Dr. Loren Borud Takes No Time Off In Contributing To The Medical Industry
Dr. Loren Borud may be taking a break from practicing medicine, but he sure isn’t slowing down in providing a wealth of useful contributions in the field. An example of this is his consulting business, where he provides advisory services to various medical companies and institutions on marketing to patients and physicians, strategic planning, designs and innovations, and medical microeconomics.
Further, Dr. Borud is using this time away from practice in order to focus on writing. Just recently, he released a single-author book entitled Plastikonomics: What I Learned as a Harvard Plastic Surgeon, which focuses on the economics of plastic surgery. Here, he gives readers an in-depth look at the field of plastic surgery, showing readers why physicians opt to take on this field, and how the industry changes in reaction to governmental and cultural societal factors.
In addition, Dr. Borud has authored over 30 scientific publications, 8 book chapters, and is also the Editor-In-Chief of the Atlas of Body Contouring after Massive Weight Loss, which was published by CineMed in 2009.
Apart from writing, Dr. Borud also provides lectures at all major national plastic surgery society meetings, as well as international forums in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and South America.
Currently, he is completing an executive MBA program at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management in Evanston, Illinois. As Dr. Borud furthers his education, many in the medical industry can expect better and more innovative contributions from this man that will surely take the field of plastic surgery to greater heights.
Dr. Borud always keeps his communication lines open for consultations and speaking engagements, proving that while his physical self may be taking some time out from practice, his contributions continue unwaveringly.
In his spare time, Dr. Loren Borud has completed two Boston marathons and currently enjoys riding his road bike in South Florida.
